| Cockpit: Cockpit is fairly small if fishing is your interest. Adequate for normal cruising. Visibility from Flybridge is excellent although requires a step back when backing into a slip.
Cabin: Interior cabin is huge for a boat this size. Two full cabins with double beds, 2 heads - 1 with a bathtub. Microwave, three burner stove and oven, icemaker. Lower helm station is a waste. Visibility form lower helm is limited - especially when boat is on plane.
Construction: Bayliner has been knocked for shoddy construction. I can only say that I have owned this boat for 15 years with little trouble. It has cruised from the Great Lakes to Key West and back with little difficulty. The larger Bayliners are good boats. I have also owned a Sea Ray - nothing but trouble. Give me a choice - I'll take the Bayliner!
Handling: Not a speed merchant. About 17 -20 MPH top speed. However, it gets about 1.3 - 1.5 mpg. That is pretty good for a boat this size. It would be nice to have more power in a following sea. In 2 - 4 footers she does well. A nice soft ride.
Engine Room: Twin Hino -175 HP diesels. Simple - Naturally aspirated and bullet proof. Give clean oil, fuel, filters and they run forever
General Comments: This has been a great boat - especially for the capital invested. It is not a Viking or a Hatteras, but it has served my family well. Whenever I go to the boat shows, I always leave thankful that I have this boat. I have not found anything for under $400,000 that would replace it. |

| | Hi all, I have just recently bought one of these boats and agree strongly with your report. But can anyone help as, the forward bedroom heater fan (Markel Model no E4003 240V 60Hz 1000 Watts) has burnt out and I need to replace it also can anyone advise where we can purchase a service manual/part book for our Hino engines as we live in England were parts are hard to come by. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, James |
